New Building Project

Chinmaya Vision – A Commitment to Excellence

cmsjHari Om and Salutations to the Chinmaya Family!

As Bala Vihar enrollment and attendance at events grows, the Chinmaya vision – “to provide maximum happiness, to the maximum (number of) people, for the maximum time” – continues to inspire the entire Chinmaya Mission San Jose community. In the midst of increasing challenges, our commitment to excellence remains strong as ever. It was quite evident that the Chinmaya Sandeepany facility on Park Ave was not going to be adequate to support needs of our activities: Balavihar, Jnana Yajnas, Pujas & Festivals, etc. Our need for a new facility emerged from this situation.

We started the New Building project on Maha Shivarathri in 2006 and acquired the property – an old church – on 10160 Clayton Road in San Jose,  in January 2008 (2 buildings, ~11,000 sq ft total, 1.7 acres) at a cost of $2.6M.

With the Lord’s Grace and Pujya Gurudev and Pujya Guruji’s blessings, under the guidance of our Acharyas Swami BodhatmanandaJi and Umaji, the entire Chinmaya Mission family wholeheartedly came together to help make this dream a reality. It gives us great joy to inform everyone that  Chinmaya Mission San Jose Sandeepany Ashram at 10160 Clayton Rd. in San Jose was officially inaugurated by Pujya Swami Tejomayanandaji  on June 12th 2014 in the presence of Swami Shantananda, Acharya at Chinmaya Mission New Jersey, and a large gathering of joyous devotees.

Pictures of the inauguration festivities and the elaborate Murthi Sthapana puja conducted by Pandit Ravichandran preceding the inauguration are available at the following links:
