Kṛtajñatā Sankalpa

Hari OM! By the Grace of Pujya Gurudev, Swami Chinmayananda, we are fortunate to have 300+ Chinmaya Mission centers all over the world to introduce our children to our culture through Bala Vihar classes and to help all of us in the pursuit of inner transformation through the knowledge of Vedanta, spiritual practices and service to society. We are also fortunate in Silicon Valley to have a vibrant Chinmaya Mission center from which we have all benefited.

In celebration of Gurudev’s 108th Jayanti and in a spirit of gratitude, we have launched a multi-year fundraising campaign, Krtajnata sankalpa (Pledge of Gratitude to Gurudev) to support the expressions of His vision. Our goal is to raise $300K in 2023-24. The campaign includes Yajaman sponsorships for all the Yajnas planned for our 10th Anniversary celebrations.

Swami Swaroopananda, Global Head of Chinmaya Mission, challenged us to think not just about CMSJ but Chinmaya Mission worldwide. In particular, he emphasized the wonderful work being done by CORD (Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development) and CVV (Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth).

We will use the proceeds from this campaign to support CVV (50%), CMSJ Sandeepany Ashram improvements (30%) and CORD (20%). More details on the causes can be found here.

Year 1 target: $300,000

3 Noble causes, realizing Gurudev’s Vision

Chinmaya VishwavidyaPeeth (CVV)

The world needs a revolution in higher education!

Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth, an extraordinary forward thinking university, was conceptualized in 2016, the birth centenary year of Pujya Gurudev, Swami Chinmayananda.
In just six years since its inception, Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth (CVV), has welcomed over 1000 students from 17 countries and more than 20 different states in India and boasts a strong faculty covering a broad range of topics from contemporary education to Indian knowledge systems that are based on India’s rich heritage and teachings.
CVV is trailblazing a unique mix between the two knowledge systems, for example, combining natural language processing and cognitive as well as computational linguistics in the areas of Samskrutham research.
The institution provides a diverse array of undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral programs that include a blend of diverse fields such as the Humanities, Business, Commerce, Education, the Fine Arts, Indian Languages, Philosophy, Science and Technology and Management!
CVV takes a holistic approach to education that prepares our future leaders to go beyond their limits, deep within to understand and tackle the most complex challenges and trials. By combining disciplines both enduring and cutting edge, individuals who graduate from Chinmaya Vishwavidyapeeth will benefit personally and will positively impact society as a whole.
vidya danam atah param IA Gift of Knowledge is better! Your pledge will leave a positive, sustainable impact on the world and help change the course of history. Our first-year campaign is to raise
$15OK and support key initiatives like student scholarships, business incubator and faculty housing.

Chinmaya Mission San Jose (CMSJ)

Chinmaya Mission San Jose was established in 1987 by Pujya Gurudev, Swami Chinmayananda. As we grew out of our original facilities, Sandeepany Ashram in San Jose was built in 2014 with generous support from members. Even as Sandeepany Ashram has sheltered us in our spiritual journey by hosting us, our kids and our guests for an entire decade, it is time for us to attend to the deferred maintenance items to enable future enhanced activities for current and future generations of members and their families. Some of these maintenance and upgrade tasks are:

  • Audio/Visual system upgrades
  • Security Camera/system replacement
  • Roof repairs
  • Parking lot repairs
  • New Carpets
  • Painting
  • If permitted, fencing around the property

Our first-year campaign is to raise $9OK for these maintenance and upgrade activities. By Bhagavan’s and Pujya Gurudev’s grace and your generous contributions, we can get this done!

Chinmaya Organization for Rural DeveloP-ment (CORD)

CORD is a non-profit organization with a mission to empower and enrich local communities, particularly in the Indian subcontinent, through sustainable social help programs focused on self-empowerment and holistic welfare. Beginning with the establishment of the Chinmaya Rural Primary Health Care and Training Center (the Sidhbari Project) in 1985, CORD has grown to address a wide range of issues, including healthcare, nutrition, micro-banking, income generation, rehabilitation of specially-ab led children, and natural resource management. Their efforts have had a significant impact on over 700 villages, benefiting more than 60,000 direct participants and 500,000 indirect beneficiaries.

Loka seva is lshwar seva! Your pledge will expand these programs to benefit more participants in India. Our first-year campaign is to raise about $6OK to support these initiatives.
